Privacy policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

This policy explains what information The Wood Between the Worlds collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

Who we are

The Wood Between the Worlds ("the tool", "we", "us") is a private, invitation-only web app and set of computer agents. It is operated by Technologic Digital Services (Greggory Wiley) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is used by the operator and the people he invites, such as members of his household.

Information we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, and your password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form). If you turn on email sign-in codes or set up a passkey, we store the data needed to check it.
  • Mobile phone numbers you add and verify in the tool, your text-message consent, and the text messages you send to and receive from the tool.
  • Content you enter: requests, commands, settings, reminders and alerts you set up, and the results the tool produces for you.
  • Security records: sign-ins, invitations, and changes to accounts, access and machines, kept in an audit log.
  • Machine details: for computers you connect to the tool, their name, status and check-in times.
  • Visit data: pages viewed on this site, your IP address, approximate location (country and city) derived from it, and your browser's user-agent string.

How we use it

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

  • To run the tool: sign you in, carry out the requests you make, and show you the results.
  • To send the text messages you asked for: replies to your commands, reminders and alerts you set up, and confirmation codes.
  • To keep the tool secure: check sign-ins, detect misuse, and keep a record of important actions.
  • To understand how this site is used, with first-party analytics that we run ourselves.

Text messaging (SMS)

Mobile phone numbers and text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We use your mobile number only to send the messages described in our SMS terms and to receive the messages you send us. Our text-message provider (Twilio) processes your number and messages only to deliver them. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share it only with service providers that run parts of the tool for us, and only as much as each one needs:

  • Hosting and file storage (Vercel).
  • Database (Neon).
  • Text-message delivery (Twilio).
  • AI model providers, which process the content of the requests you make so the tool can answer them.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the tool.

Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies: one that keeps you signed in, one that remembers your colour theme, and two for our own analytics (a visitor cookie that lasts up to 400 days and a visit cookie that expires after 30 minutes of inactivity). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account, your phone number or other information at any time by emailing us. We will delete it unless we need to keep a record for security or legal reasons.

Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, sign-in supports a second factor (an emailed code or a passkey), and stored secrets such as connection keys are encrypted by the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

The tool is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
